About Marian

Upon completing Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) and Bachelor of Education degrees at Queen’s University I embarked on a career as a secondary school teacher at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute where I taught for 30 years before retiring in June 2021. In preparation for a new adventure, I completed a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) degree with Yorkville University in July 2020.

I am a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO; 009729) and the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT; 197440). I am also a general member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP; 5711-G), a non-certified professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA; 10003707), and both an Active Retired Member (ARM) of the Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation (Chapter 29, formerly D29, Hastings/Prince Edward, OSSTF; 64357) and an Honourary Member of OSSTF, District 29.

Working with a wide range of individuals and couples, my goal is to assist those who are struggling with the paralyzing effects of trauma as well as fear, loneliness, and uncertainty. While utilizing an integrated approach, I draw upon Internal Family Systems, Attachment Theory, and Schema Therapy therapeutic models in pursuit of assisting individuals move toward a brighter, more optimistic future.

Cancellation Policy

When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.

In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.

Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
