About Elise
When you have spent so much of your life surviving, caring for others, or trying to simply make it through difficult experiences, it can feel unfamiliar (and even frightening!) to begin focusing on yourself. To help make sense of feelings that are overwhelming, painful, or disconnected, therapy can offer a space to slow down, feel supported, and reconnect with yourself in meaningful ways. I believe healing begins in environments where people feel emotionally safe, genuinely heard, and free from judgment. As a Registered Nurse working in mental health and harm reduction, I have supported individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief, psychosis, and complex life transitions. My work has largely focused on supporting individuals facing systemic barriers, stigma, and experiences of marginalization. These experiences continue to shape my compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I approach therapy from a holistic and strengths-based perspective, recognizing that healing is not linear and that every person’s story deserves care and curiosity. Together, we may explore patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen self-worth, develop coping strategies, and better understand the emotional impact of your experiences and relationships. I also value acknowledging the broader systems that influence mental health, including oppression, patriarchy, stigma, and social inequities. My background in psychiatric nursing and psychopharmacology also allows me to support individuals navigating medication-related concerns, including the emotional challenges and uncertainty that can arise when starting or adjusting psychiatric medications. My therapeutic approach is informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, trauma-informed care, and relational therapy approaches. I strive to create a space where people can show up exactly as they are and feel supported in the process of healing, growth, and self-discovery. I work with individuals ages 16+ and offer therapy by phone, online, and in person. Educational and Professional Background I am a Registered Nurse and Certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse. I am currently completing a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Gerontology, and Health Studies from McMaster University.

Cancellation Policy
When you book a session, your clinician reserves their time for you. In the event that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify your clinician at least 24 hours in advance, so that someone else may utilize the time. Similarly, when your clinician is unable to keep the appointment with you, they will give you more than a 24-hour notice and rebook to another date and time.
In the case whereby you are unable to provide 24-hour cancellation notice (e.g., you cancel an appointment on the day of the appointment [i.e., the same day] or do not show up for a scheduled appointment), unless for emergency reasons (e.g., medical or family emergencies), you will be charged the fee for your session and payment will be required at your next scheduled session.
Note: Employee Assistance Programs and other insurance-based programs will not reimburse you, the client, for missed appointment costs.
